Working with Continuous Sound
In open-plan offices, many people choose to work while wearing headphones (often of the noise-cancelling variety) to preserve their sanity.
Other people, who work alone, miss the buzz of a communal office and can benefit from injecting a bit of atmosphere into their day by using “soundscapes”.
Vitamin-R 4 ships with a number of continuous background sound loops that you can activate in two different manners:
- at any moment, go to
Tools⇒White Noise Machineto start, pause, change volume or select a soundscape - if you want to automatically play a sound loop during every time slice, go to
Vitamin-R 4⇒Preferences⇒NotificationsTime Slice is in progressand choose your preferred continuous sound
When it all gets a little too much, Tools ⇒ Mute All Sounds will immediately cease all playback, no matter what.
In addition, you can download the separate Noise Machine application from our website. It is free for Vitamin-R users and contains around 20 soundscapes ranging from a spaceship engine hum to a busy Italian street restaurant.
